Healthy Foods to Eat For Fitness Enthusiasts

Are you a fitness enthusiast keen on eating the right foods and doing the right exercises? If yes, then welcome to my club.

I’m a fitness freak who runs for health, and pumps iron for lean muscle mass. Here is my list of healthy foods to eat.

These foods helped me rev up my metabolism and my fitness program revved it up some more. Today, I eat healthy and work out regularly. These foods have worked very well for me and I hope they work for you as well. Here we go:

Water

Water can boost your metabolism and fill you up so much that you’d want to stay away from food. Medical researchers have discovered that drinking 17 ounces of water can speed by the metabolic rate by 30%. Start your day with a big glass of water and then get on to your fitness routine.

Oatmeal (choose rolled oatmeal and not instant Oatmeal)

This is my favorite. Oatmeal is loaded with fiber and nutrients, and it helps cut down bad cholesterol as well. It’s a great carb that keeps the stomach full and therefore helps you to stay away from extra helpings.

Oatmeal is every fitness enthusiast’s favorite food. I consume oatmeal with pears and apples.

Pears and Apples

Both fruits are loaded with fibers and nutrients. Plus, they fulfill my craving for sugar.

I don’t add any sugar to my oatmeal because I get enough of it from apples and pears. Apples and pears keep the stomach full as well and will also help you stay away from unhealthy snacks until it’s time for another healthy
meal.

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Nope, I’m not talking about the music band, but some real red hot peppers. Peppers are one of the very healthy foods to eat that can boost your metabolic rate.

They contain a chemical compound called capsaicin that makes the body release stress hormones. When stress hormones are released, the metabolic rate shoots up and gets you in real calorie-burning mode.

Yogurt (Low-fat)

Yogurt comes loaded with calcium and the friendly bacteria, acidophilus. An 8-ounce low-fat yogurt dish contains 450mg of calcium and 12gms of protein.

There are other nutrients in yogurt as well. Yogurt is great for the stomach and keeps the digestive tract in good shape, which is what every fitness enthusiast wants.

Lean Turkey or Lean Chicken

1-ounce of a turkey breast serving (minus the skin) gives you 120 calories and 26 grams of protein and no saturated fat. Skinless chicken is another of those healthy foods to eat. If you’re going for turkey, remember it’s tougher to chew turkey than chicken.

Soup

I make it a point to eat soup for lunch 3 times a week. It fills me up and makes me eat a little less of the main dish. Yeah, soup is nutritious, healthy and a real appetite-suppressant.

It has got some solids going too and a bowl of soup contains very few calories. You can get your nutrition and a full stomach by including soup in your diet.

These are my favorite healthy foods to eat. These help me keep going at my fitness routine with a renewed vigor and I hope these work for you as well.

"About 2 weeks ago I read all the ab strengthening stuff on your site because I decided I wanted to be strong, instead of having a lot of belly fat. So I started eating healthier, running, exercising, you name it - everything your site said to do to help. Now I am noticing a real difference! Thank you for making this. :D xD"

[This calorie calculator is] the most useful tool on the web that I can find… Also, I compared the calories calculated by your calculator to the calories calculated by the treadmill at my gym, and they're within a couple calories of each other, so yours is as accurate as we're going to get. REALLY AWESOME TOOL. I love it and depend on it. Thank you sooooo much for making this available."

Thank you very much, I was too lean before 2 years (55 Kgs), after the gym now I'm 72kgs, all the muscles have developed... when someone hand shakes with me it can be squeezed easily, they're making fun of me!
