Hot Yoga is Hot

My small town does not offer much in terms of sports activities, therefor there is never anything fun and fit to do. Until recently the only form of exercise I was getting – was walking my dog.
However, this all changed when a Bikram Yoga studio opened up. For those of you who aren't familiar with Bikram Yoga – it's basically yoga – done in a VERY hot room. Think: sauna. I was excited about the new studio – as was everybody else in town.
The studio was offering free classes for people that wanted to try it out before committing themselves to a plan. My younger sister and I decided there was no harm in checking it out – it was horrible! I felt like I was in a prison torture chamber, I wasn't able to breathe, sweat was coming out of places I didn't even know could sweat and worst of all, the instructor was making everybody curl into outrageous poses. After the two of us (and everybody else) left that day, we swore never to go back – until something crazy happened.
About two hours after the class, I felt really energized and refreshed and when I gave my sister a call, she felt refreshed too. I guess the torture was worth it! You sweat out toxins, tone your body and give your brain some time to relax! To this day I still go to regular Bikram yoga classes – and I encourage other people to find a studio. Once you try it out, you'll be pleasantly amazed.
